The origins of a great terroir
Located in Entrecasteaux, in the heart of green Provence, Clos de Caille flourishes on a rich clay-limestone terroir, marked by the presence of silica and a microclimate that is rare in Provence. 200 metres above sea level, in an unspoilt natural environment.
A land of vines for centuries, the Domaine has its origins in the 12th century, It was here that the Cistercian monks of Le Thoronet Abbey laid the foundations of an exceptional winegrowing history.
Today, Clos de Caille is first and foremost a family adventure, driven by the passion and dedication of Jean-Pierre and Simona Mariotti, accompanied by their three children. In just a few years, they have succeeded in raising the estate to a high level of excellence.
Prior to the unveiling of their first vintage in 2021, major investments have been made, both in the quality of the plants and in the winemaking methods used. In 2019, the family is building a 1,800 m² semi-underground wine storehouse, designed with gravity flow by internationally renowned architect Rudy Ricciotti. A true “Chai d'œuvre”, it blends elegantly into the landscape and combines cutting-edge technology with respect for nature.
At the same time, particular attention is paid to the vines, considered to be the foundation of great wines. Committed to a sustainable approach, our master winemakers work with massal selection alongside the nurseryman Lilian Bérillon, This is achieved by following strict farming practices.

In 2024, the Mariotti family continued its expansion with the acquisition of the Bruguières Estate, adjoining Clos de Caille. This extension now brings the property to almost 160 hectares, including 40 hectares of certified organic vines.
Today, Mathieu Mariotti runs the family estate, accompanied by the oenologist Matthew Cosse. Driven by the same exacting standards and passion as his father, his ambition is clear: to make Clos de Caille one of the key references for the great wines of Provence.

With the first warm spells of summer, the vineyards are waking up. The vines slowly enter their production cycle, buoyed by the light and the first breaths of summer to come.
After long months of work, the pruning campaign has just come to an end. It's an essential, almost invisible, but fundamental step: one that is already shaping the balance of the future vintage.
