Excellence as our hallmark
Spanning nearly 160 hectares, including 40 hectares of vineyards, Clos de Caille pursues a rigorous vision of its terroir. By assessing the flavour and aromatic nuances of each plot individually, Clos de Caille crafts precise and harmonious blends. This meticulous approach, supported by state-of-the-art winemaking equipment, is essential to bringing out the full quality and identity of our wines.
In this quest for excellence, the estate employs massal selection in collaboration with Lilian Bérillon, an internationally renowned nurseryman. This painstaking approach helps to preserve the richness of the vines, refine the vineyard’s identity and ensure that each planting is established for the long term.
Yield management is at the heart of our philosophy: each vineyard deliberately produces a limited quantity of grapes, in order to prioritise balance, concentration and quality. Between grubbing-up and replanting, the soil is left to rest for two to three years – the time needed for it to regenerate and regain its full vitality.
