Terroir Clos de Caille

As a strong sign of this growth and in line with a coherent regional strategy, the Mariotti family recently acquired the neighbouring Domaine des Bruguières., bringing the total to nearly 160 hectares in a single block, including 40 hectares of vines.

While maintaining its high standards in rosé production, Clos de Caille intends to assert its legitimacy in reds and whites, through distinctive and expressive vintages.
This is evidenced by its brand new white Tête de Cuvée, Clos de Caille ‘Lucis’ 2023 — expression of an estate renowned for the excellence of its winemaking approach and its attachment to its terroir.

«Clos de Caille ‘Lucis’ embodies the estate's DNA: a quest for purity, precision and emotion. We wanted a Grand Blanc that reveals the potential of this high-altitude terroir, with just the right amount of ageing, without excess, to let the raw material speak for itself. It is a luminous, tense and deep wine, tailor-made for gastronomy.»

Clos de Caille honoured by ELLE à Table
Lucis 2023 wins the Best New Producer Award

Concours Elle à Table

We are proud to announce that Clos de Caille ‘Lucis’ 2023, our first Tête de Cuvée in white, was awarded the Best New Producer Award at the ELLE à Table competition.

This distinction, awarded blind by a jury composed of experts and members of the editorial team, recognises the precision and boldness of our approach. Crafted by Matthieu Cosse, this cuvée embodies the elegance and distinctive characteristics of our terroir.

Note from the ELLE à Table jury : «An early summer morning in the garrigue... Bright lemon yellow colour with initial golden highlights. The nose combines crisp freshness thanks to citrus aromas and delicacy with notes of yellow fruit, flowers and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and rich, then develops good tension. Mineral and slightly woody finish, a sign of perfectly controlled ageing. A great wine for fine dining.»

This recognition honours our master winemakers and encourages us to continue pursuing our high standards and sincerity in winemaking.
