It is a recognised long-term project: that of a Domaine. rooted in tradition but resolutely forward-looking, where each vintage reveals the very essence of our terroir at its finest.
Driven by strong convictions and thoughtful patience, the Mariotti family only released their vintages once they were fully mature, thus establishing Clos de Caille as a symbol of excellence in the Côtes-de-Provence region.
Heir to a lineage deeply committed to rigorous work, Mathieu Mariotti manages the Provençal estate acquired by his family in 1992. Since the first vintage unveiled in 2021, he brings a new dynamic, driven by the desire to take Clos de Caille to new heights, by reconciling the demands of winemaking, respect for traditions and a spirit of innovation — always supported by his parents and siblings.
Born into a family with deep roots in Monaco, Mathieu grew up between the city and the countryside, learning the value of hard work from an early age. Under his leadership, the vineyard, now certified organic and extended to forty hectares, is driven in mass selection. The ambition is clear: to reveal the full richness of an exceptional terroir through plot-by-plot vinification carried out in a gravity cellar designed by the renowned architect Rudy Ricciotti. This soil-friendly approach, supported by Matthieu Cosse's oenological expertise, enables Clos de Caille to assert itself, particularly with white and red wines, in a regional market where rosé had previously dominated.
A project born of passion and conviction, to make Clos de Caille a benchmark for Côtes de Provence wines — beyond trends, authentic and faithful to its terroir.
