Harvests
Harvests generally start at the beginning of Septemberand last for two to three weeks depending on the maturity of the variety of our plots.
Harvests take place exclusively at night in order to collect our grapes at cool temperatures for both technical and ecological reasons.
- Clos de Caille employs local grape pickers from villages near the Estate.
- Hand-picked avoiding crushing the berries which would trigger maceration and oxidation thanks to the use of small baskets, the grapes are immediately transported to our cellar.
- Mechanical harvests are undertaken using a harvester equipped with selective sorting.
